Everything in this world feels a bit wacky right now. And that’s an understatement. And not exactly the right word. But I will leave that there.
I love a spontaneous change of pace for a Sunday morning and today that has included bagels. But, like, when did a fun breakfast (at home) get so intense? And by intense I mean…expensive. I know the price for gluten free will always be ‘extra,’ but I had mild sticker shock after submitting my order.
It is St. Patrick’s Day weekend and I have inadvertently worn green each time I have left the house. Ha! I will be avoiding the parade in Boston today, have a joyful time if you go, and will be doing our usual Sunday things which always include grocery shopping, laundry, some form of exercise, some work to get ready for the week, some errands, a necessary Sephora visit for a couple things I have run out of, and who knows what else. That’s a lot to pack into a somewhat short window of ‘free time’ before the new episode of The White Lotus. ;)
Have you been watching the new season? Ahh, it is ramping up and I cannot wait. To get further into ‘Lotus mode,’ I have been blasting the newest theme song in my car to learn to appreciate its differences from the past seasons’ soundtrack and to find the subtle nuances for the similarities. I’m hooked. I also may be a secret fan of club music. Guess it’s not a secret anymore!
My go-to tunes include 90s hip hop, a splash of current pop, a hearty dose of classic big band jazz, and anything that’s remotely good for a sing-a-long in the car. Opting for a higher-end sound system will always be a requirement for me. And realizing that my Apple Music subscription was a very good idea.
Over on the other side of my brain that’s not focused on the week’s meals, my favorite music, or other superfluous excitement (I bought more pants), I must admit I do not have a lot to say. Pepper is way overdue for a bath and haircut. Although she loves being a ‘mud monkey’ and rolling in the dirt all day. She is living for this warmer weather. We are on the brink of patio season. Hooray!
Work is incredibly busy which is using all of my most-prized thinking skills that leaves the rest of me pretty darn exhausted by the time the weekend arrives. I wish I had something more exciting to share or discuss, but sometimes life is just life-ing. I am sure the same is true for you! Right?
Seth’s birthday is next weekend! We kicked off the celebrations with a wonderful lunch with family yesterday and now I have a full week to figure out what we’ll do on his actual birthday. Gifts? Of course! Long walks with Pepper? Always. But what else shall we do to usher in…41!? Wowza. This past year truly flew. Stay tuned as I will share how it pans out, with all of you, next Sunday.
Friends, I daresay it’s time to say, ‘Toodles!’ We are off to do the errands and Sunday Musts and all of the other tasks that turn the second half of the weekend into a scramble. It’s rarely a ‘slow Sunday’ around here.
I will leave you with this gem we saw while driving yesterday on the highway, quite appropriate for this weekend, and well, all of the time.
“Enjoy the luck of being alive, drive sober!”
Wise words! Have a great one. :)
Cheers and joy,
Mollie
