Hello there,
I’m so glad you’re here. November has arrived, it’s 33 degrees outside, yet it was 75 degrees just two days ago. What?! No joke.
The weather is on a roller coaster which has taken my emotions along for the ride. The splash of summer felt incredibly weird, but cool? The chill this morning feels awesome, but a reminder of the season to come. The back and forth nature (pun intended) of the temps these days has made the daily task of dressing for work barely enjoyable as I’m someone who lives for the chilly days. Honestly, cold-weather outfits for work are far easier than warm. The combo of a dress, tights, and boots (or sneakers) is my uniform because it’s just so easy! And comfy. But more on those items later. A fresh month has arrived!
November. It starts with “no” but in my opinion is a month full of “yes.” It’s the time of year when we should be extra giving of our time and spirit even though it’s before the month when “gift giving” is all the rage. I love presents, but I’m finding myself wanting to make an even stronger effort this year to give back - donations, helping others, and embracing the joyful side of being a resource for others.
Work is packed with tasks, to-do lists, and a pace that can only be described as “lightning approaches while white water rafting.” A fun image, right? I enjoy my work, but I cannot focus on much else during the week.
When the weekend arrives and I do have free time, I try to slow down a little and be sure to do things that are fun for me and helpful for others. Writing this letter to you every Sunday brings me great joy and a sense of calm while it hopefully provides you with a moment to chill, maybe laugh, and receive some helpful information. If these letters lack any of that, let me know! I am here to help. It goes without saying (well, I guess I am saying it now) that my exercise routine each day is also instrumental, and essential, to keeping the peace for my brain and body.
I suppose then that my main priority today, on this beautifully chilly first Sunday of November, is to get outside! I found my fleece(s) and am so excited to be out and about. Daylight savings has begun so sunset is significantly earlier (I know that’s a bummer for many). I am someone who loves to seize the day and that’s just we will do. With Pepper. Because we left her at home for a bit yesterday and she was the Pogo stick puppy when we got back. Oops! She is an incredible dog, but does not like to be left out. FOMO is her middle name. Ha!
Let’s get to the goodies, shall we? Because my next goal of the day is to get a GF bagel, a flat white, and watch Pepper romp through the piles of leaves everywhere. She just loves it! I can’t blame here. It’s incredibly cute until she finds a rogue lollipop or leftover Halloween candy wrapper. ;)
I hope you have a great one and please, please, please, remember to VOTE! :)

The Sunday Six
Chilly nights are perfect for curry meatballs. I love this red curry chicken meatball recipe. We serve them with roasted broccoli and Jasmine rice. Scrumptious!
I bought black denim overalls, debated briefly wearing them around the house, then returned them. However, on this brisk morning, I am considering a re-order. They were comfy, easy, and would be a quick “Sunday” uniform. Stay tuned if they make an appearance again…
Nouvelle Maison opened in Winchester Center and omg it’s so cute! I visited yesterday and could barely decided on a few items to bring home (I purchased three made-in-France condiments). Everything is French and the shop feels like a mini, local ‘Eataly’ due to the variety of choices and areas to browse. I love it and will be a frequent customer.
Verveine Cafe and Bakery - my number one 100% GF spot - now offers delivery and online ordering. Should we move to Cambridge?! Maybe.
We tried a new-to-us restaurant, Alchemy Bar and Kitchen, located in Lynnfield, and it was great! Plenty of GF options, a fun, relaxed atmosphere, and a menu with a wide variety of choices depending on your mood. I opted for jambalaya which was delicious and Seth got sushi. Something for everyone!
As stated above, my work day uniform for cold days includes a dress, tights, and boots (comfort and confidence all in one). I discovered this sweater dress from The Frankie Shop and I already ordered it in a second color. ;)
Cheers and joy and positive vibes all around.
Mollie
