Hello!
Hi there. It’s me! I’m still here. I hope you can forgive my absence as I started a new job right after Thanksgiving. This is the first moment I’ve had the wherewithal to gather a few thoughts to share before the holiday break and New Year’s Eve arrives with all of its glitter-filled goodness and dreams for the New Year.
Given that we are right in the thick of the season and time has definitely passed for gift guides of any sort, I would like to share a few thoughts and well wishes instead.
Starting a new, incredibly busy job during the (already) busiest time of year has been quite the experience. Not only is the work a lot to learn and get used to, but I have returned to the office for the first time since 2020. Wowza. I must admit… I love it!
Sure, I get up far earlier in the morning and get home after sunset, but I really am happy to have a commute back in my life. I was wary of how it would all feel, the new weekday timeline, but all in all it’s great. Seth and Pepper are holding down the fort at home and my days (back) in Boston feel just right.
I think this routine of going to work had been missing and I’m really glad to have it back. It feels good and (joyfully) normal. That being said, the option to work from home - when necessary - is greatly appreciated.
Now, enough about work! It’s almost time for the holiday break that I’m sure we all very much need (and deserve). I hope you’re able to take time off to unwind, relax, visit family and friends, or spend a moment doing whatever you feel like to close out 2023. I cannot believe 2024 is around the corner - only 10 days away - because this year went by in an instant.
I’m not going to give a top ten list of moments from 2023 or a countdown of my favorite experiences (or purchases), but I will say a lot happened over the last twelve months. WOW.
Humor me briefly, won’t you?
My niece was born! Seth and I adopted Pepper! Seth got a new job! We celebrated our 7th wedding anniversary! We went to California! I got a new job! We visited friends! We hung out with family! We ate great food! We worked on the house! We chased (and chased) Pepper. We walked a lot.
We had a really eventful, busy, exciting, and rewarding year. Ups and downs and everything in between. I’d call that one hell of a (great) year.
Now, I can’t wait to see what’s in store for 2024.
Happy holidays to my Flavor Buffet crew! Thank you for being here. I hope you have a wonderful holiday and a happy, healthy, and sparkling new year!
I’ll see you here soon for much more… in 2024. :)
Cheers!
Mollie
