I had intended to skip today’s newsletter as part of a “long weekend;” (AKA no newsletter) however I couldn’t skip sending you a brief note, a few links, and some Happy Friday photos of our constantly-growing dahlias and Pepper. You know, the good stuff!
Temps are soaring past 90 degrees around here today and tomorrow so my plan is to stay in the shade, drink lots of water, and make sure all of Pepper’s ice cube trays are always full. Our ice machine in the fridge will be working overtime as well as our window a/c units and every fan I can find. Stay cool, stay calm, stay indoors if you need to.
Conveniently, the heat (and humidity) will break on Sunday just in time for us to celebrate our 7th wedding anniversary! I cannot wait for a glorious, perfect summer day for the occasion.
In fact, our actual wedding day in 2016 had impeccable weather (a true gift) so each year that matches that just makes the day even more special. Our wedding celebration was incredible and a day that we’ll remember (and treasure) forever; the weather, the people, the setting, the music, the love, the goodness.
A major cliche - of course - but our wedding was by far one of the happiest, most fun days of my life. I’m grateful for the memories of that day and every joyful moment Seth and I have shared since. :)
I’ll post a few photos on IG on Sunday in case you’re curious about the details. Yes, the wedding was 100% gluten free and yes, the music was marvelous from start to finish. Yes, the cake was multi-tiered and fabulous. Yes, it was all a blast and I couldn’t feel my feet the following day. Happy Anniversary, Seth! Here’s to a stellar seven and all of the years ahead!

We made Caramelized Zucchini and White Bean Salad for dinner this week - stellar!
Unsure of the midi denim skirt trend, but here’s one from J.Crew to peruse.
Jumped on the bandwagon and ordered the classic Samba for the fall.
Our anniversary plan is still TBD, but a dinner at Woods Hill Table is always a great, delicious time.
